It would have been easy for a chairman to fly off the handle following the innocent mistake by the linesman last night. I’m sure several other men would have issued death threats.
The Bianconeri would’ve gone 2-1 down at the Bentegodi had Alberto Paloschi not been wrongly flagged offside.
It was reported Chievo President Luca Campedelli came down after the game to reassure the linesman who made the error.
“Chievo’s sense of fair play is impressive and everyone should follow their example. We were lucky today, because the situation went our way. Having said that, I hope the media won’t go over this incident again and again while ignoring decisions that go against Juventus, such as the penalty on Carlos Tevez with Lazio. We want to help the referees, whereas the media want to cause controversy.
Imagine a world where everyone behaved this way. Wouldn’t that be nice.
Interesting write up, and if true, RESPECT!
We suffered in that game, but to be champions, we need to grind out results…a fews year back, we wopuld have drawn that game and be happy! Now we grind them out….I hope that continues! now the derby is next!!!
I was pleased to read Napoli’s 1-1 draw with Sassuolo, but the Roma and Inter seem to be performing so well up until now.. It feels like an open Championship thus far.
Maybe that linesman got confused with that one player that was in an offside position and thought that it was he who made the run onto the ball… I wish all of their players were offside so that there was no controversy surrounding our goal. I like it to be fair and honest etc.
