Juventus have returned to their winning ways, as they see off Livorno 2-0 a brace from Llorente 32nd and 35th, this win keeps Juventus 8 points clear in the title race, last six games coming up.
The win does not really tell all the story, Juve started slowly then came to life and scored 2 quick goals. 2-0 and Juve take their foot off the gas, that’s what it looked like, but as the game progressed you actually saw a different side. Players actually looked tired they did not seems to play their full strength, was it they were tired or was it they actually had Thursday night’s game against Lyon.
The first half as I said Juve got into the game shortly after the start after Llorente scored the second slowed down and Livorno took the chance but failed to score, the second half Juventus came out with intent but that lasted for about 15 minutes after that the team seemed to run out of steam and Livorno started to play more and more forward but their finishing is the reason they are struggling at the bottom of the league, a couple of long range shots easily dealt by Buffon, Juve’s attack came from Pogba who seemed to lose his sight on goal, changes were made but even with fresh legs Juve did struggle up front. Hopefully on Thursday night there could be better night against Lyon whom also won this weekend beating Valenciennes 2-1, Lyons goals came from Gomis and Ferri whiles the hosts scored through Waris who missed a penalty in the 87th to level the game, this win keeps them in touch for Europa league football next season.
Other Seria A results, Roma keep up with the race the fact they beat Parma in the midweek game 4-2 on Sunday they travelled to Sardegnia and return with another win 3-1 against Cagliari a Hat-trick by Destro made sure they stay in touch and secure that one Champions League entrance, as this win moves them eight points clear of Napoli who lost at the Tardini 1-0 goal from Parolo early in the second half, this leaves them nine points clear from Fiorentina for that Champions league qualifier, as Fiorentina saw off Udinese 2-1 to stay in touch also the win moves Fiorentina five points clear of the chasing group, Inter managed a draw against Bologna 2-2 (what makes this result even better all season Inter moaned about not getting a penalty well they got one here and missed it could have won 3-2), Parma after three consecutive defeats they saw of Parma to join the Europa league group, currently level with Inter 50 points, Lazio’s win takes them to two points away from the group as they saw off Sampdoria 2-0 even though they had a player sent off.
Apart the surprise win from Parma against Napoli the other surprise win was Sassuolo who travelled to Bergamo and beat Atalanta 2-0 a brace from Sansone put Sassuolo with a chance of survival, other teams in the survival battle Catania must start to get ready for Seria B as they suffered yet another defeat in the hands of Torino 2-1, Livorno defeat leaves them in trouble the other result is Bologna who’s point goes a long way to survival also the defeat for Chievo against Verona leaves them in real danger, four teams are fighting to stay away from the drop zone.
