Weekend 28 and Juventus maintain a 3 point lead over their Partenopei rivals, both clubs had (on paper) winnable games, beating Atalanta 2-0 and Chievo 3-1 respectively. The biggest game off this week was Roma hosting Fiorentina both teams vying for that third and the hosts won that with easily 4-1 leaving Fiorentina with one point in two games and are currently looking over their shoulder for that automatic Europa league place as Inter close in the gap after their home win against Palermo 3-1 leaving them just two pints behind. Talking of Palermo they are now in danger in dropping into the danger zone after this defeat and Frosinone’s win over Udinese 2-0 there is only one point between them, but the controversial game was Sassuolo v Milan 2-0 apparently their second goal scored by Sansone was the least controversial as there was a foul committed before the goal was scored, well actually is six of and half a dozen of the other.
Juve hosted Atalanta, the old lady knew what was expected and what was needed, as the previous night Napoli had won their game, Juve had to win this to stay clear just saw the highlights of the game and the old lady started in third gear to close the game quickly but it the keeper, but one goal in each half kept Napoli at bay, first one from Barzagli a badly defended set peace defender staying on the line allowed Barzagli to pick up that lose ball in front of the keeper and goodnight 1-0. Whiles in the apparently slow boring second half and questions why Lamina was on the field, the player replied by one moment of magic by beating three players and by the penalty box line let one rip low down just inside the post by the keepers right-hand side to seal off the game.
Buffon has moved into third place with 836 minutes since conceding another 68 minutes against Sassuolo and he will move above Dino Zoff into second place but if he keeps yet another clean sheet then he is only yes just only 4 minutes away to re-writing the record books, this season so far was a nearly season as Juve failed by just one game a draw against Bologna in beating Inter’s record run, this is after a really bad start when everyone was asking what the hell is going on.
Counting down there are 10 games left in the season it can still go very wrong for any of the top teams and for the survival ones too, out of the top five Juve probably has the hardest task as the host none other than Sassuolo who always perform greater with the big clubs, whiles Napoli travel to Sicily to face Palermo who in turn are fighting for survival as for Roma they travel to Udine another team who need points but it has to be said both Napoli and Roma you can only see two away wins and a home win for Fiorentina as they invite Verona to Firenze.
